About Simone Travel Edge
Hello ~ I'm Simone. Welcome to my world of travel planning and how I can help you travel the world in style and worry-free.
The Covid-19 pandemic has illustrated now more than ever the value of a trustworthy, experienced travel advisor.

Based in Atlanta, I'm an experienced, extensively traveled luxury travel advisor with Travel Edge. I specialize in planning active, adventure, wellness, and celebration trips worldwide. My international background and global travels (128 countries and still counting...) serve to help you design the journeys of your dreams. I specialize in creating unique experiences you can't find online or plan yourself, with connections to properties and itineraries around the world that are unparalleled.
Named Top Travel Specialist for 2021 and 2022 by Conde Nast Traveler.
OK, so why me as your travel advisor and my travel planning service?
Good question! Similar to a financial planner or legal expert whom you pay for sound, expert, trusted advice, I work with you personally every step of the way to orchestrate your dream trip, be it solo or with a friend/significant other/family member or a group. For my VIP service, I request an up-front non-refundable planning fee (varies depending on trip type, duration, and complexity) for my expert knowledge, experience, industry contacts, VIP service and exclusive amenities for my clients, planning and research time.
Still curious? Please check out my video, travel photos, blogs, as well as testimonials from my wonderful (repeat) clients, on this site.
I invite you to contact me at simone.mckinney@traveledge.com to get started on your trip planning. Let's also connect on Facebook and Instagram @simonetraveledge.
A bit about me personally and my global background which serve to design your perfect trip: Dutch by birth, I've been traveling since I was in the womb, born in India. My first language was Cantonese growing up in Hong Kong. I have also lived in Austria and Holland where I became fluent in Dutch, German, and French. Teaching English in Japan inspired me to learn Japanese and explore Japan. I came to the United States to attend Boston University and after graduating with degrees in Communications and International Relations started working in Atlanta. After working for the Atlanta 1996 Paralympic Games, I left for career opportunities in Los Angeles and Boston, bringing me back full circle to Atlanta where I call home...for now...when I'm not traveling that is. :) I've traveled extensively in North America, Europe and Asia. Fun fact: I have one last continent to explore!
My professional background includes 30+ years practicing public relations and marketing in America for blue chip corporations specializing in industries such as hospitality, entertainment, sports, consulting, and utility. I transitioned full-time from my corporate career into the travel business this (Covid-19) year (yes, the worst possible timing!) to pursue my true passion. Besides loving to travel personally, I'm passionate about making travel dreams come true for my clients.
My passion for travel acquired while living in and traveling to various parts of the globe combined with my professional development of relationships serve to help you design the journeys of your dreams.
Whether you're looking to be mesmerized by magical waterfalls and glaciers in Iceland or ornate temples and simple stupas in Myanmar or seeking fun in the Cabo San Lucas sun or a sunset camel ride in the Sahara desert or a city escape to the world's capitals, or staying closer to home, and more...I look forward to working together!
Undecided? Well, please keep in mind that if you decide instead to plan a trip on your own, taking up your valuable time, through impersonal online booking engines, that you could very likely end up in a room with a view overlooking a trash compactor or a cancelled reservation when you walk up to check in. Or those stunning website photos that you viewed don't remotely look like what you see when you arrive. Or even worse. I hear this often when new clients come to me after striking out on their own. Yikes.
Also, during this difficult pandemic time, I can help with Covid-19 questions and so much more to guide you through the overwhelming amount of resources available and make sense of it all for you. I'm available for you after we've planned your fabulous trip and when you're on your way to your favorite destination when something may go awry unexpectedly ~ it can happen... You could call Ghostbusters, but think I'd be a better bet. ;)
Convinced? Terrific - let's start orchestrating travel dreams together! I look forward to receiving your email at simone.mckinney@traveledge.com and together we can begin to plan your trip of a lifetime!
Hop over to my gift cards section for giving your special friend or family member or yourself the gift of travel with a gift card amount that covers part or all of my planning fee. After all, travel is the only thing you can buy that makes you richer...
